Japanese Continuers

This group is for all those who want to continue learning Japanese after taking a beginners’ course either on Arran or elsewhere.

We shall meet in blocks of 10 weeks and follow the units in the Genki series of course books. You will learn how to do the following in Japanese:

An image of writing 'Hello' in Japanese hiragana characters
  • Introduce yourself
  • Go shopping
  • Go on trips
  • Talk about what you do
  • Talk about family and friends
  • Talk about your plans
  • Say that you are felling unwell
  • Understand cultural aspects

In addition, you will learn:

  • hiragana,
  • katakana
  • and about 100 kanji.

It is recommended but not obligatory to buy the course book: Genki I

We will meet in Lamlash on Wednesdays, starting in May/June 2026 from 13:30 to 15:30 for up to 10 weeks.
